My name is Kristi and I would like to welcome you to my new blog. I have always had a passion for writing and sharing words with people and have been blogging on and off for years. However it has been a while since I’ve put pen to paper and finger to keyboard to share even a few words, and I’m excited to get started in the New Year.
To share a bit about me, I moved from small town British Columbia to urban Oregon in August of 2015 to marry my best friend and the love of my life. Before that, I was the office manager at my church and a computer studies instructor at the local community college, as well as an avid volunteer, and active member of my small town. Upon moving, I took on the office manager position at my new church here in Oregon, jumped into youth ministry in the youth group my husband pastors, and set to work learning how to be a wife, an immigrant, a full fledged adult, and the new kid on the block. All four of these roles were brand new to me, and I’ll admit the learning curve was difficult and the transition bumpier than myself or my new husband was willing to admit. As a result, I took a bit of an unintentional hiatus from writing, in all forms, for the year of 2016 as I adjusted to my new life as a young wife, and new resident of the U.S.
I don’t have a clear picture of where this year or this blog will take me, but as a follower of Jesus, wife, and immigrant who has a passion for writing, homemaking, and creating and is on a journey of healing from transition triggered depression and anxiety, I am confident that I will have plenty of content to pull from. I am excited to start writing again, and to share with you the things I am passionate about. My hope is to start off 2017 with a focus on “Finding My Joy Again” and to let that particular phrase inspire the content of these posts.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you will follow along on this journey with me. I will be posting here weekly. Please feel free to share your thoughts and comments on the individual posts or reach out via the Contact Me section!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and I’ll see you on the first week of 2017!
